You're not here to date. You're here for the love of your life.
Love has been made small lately. Careful, ironic, discussed like a risk assessment. We take it the way the Romantics did — back when people ruined themselves for it, and wrote letters about the wreckage. Love lies. Love hurts. And love is still the thing worth believing in.
What VOL II: KURATA is: the weekly letter, the book of love & lies, and the music in three acts
One long rumination on love.
The letter you look forward to — comprehensive, handcrafted, the kind you sit with on a Sunday.
Inspired by true stories — the apologies you were owed.
DRAMA — the apologies you were owed, and on some pages you hear them.
Songs that move from fire, to night, to vow.
VOL II: KURATA — the music it all becomes.
It begins in love. It ends in love.
And everything between is what love does to a person. Three chapters — the fire, the descent, and the love that proves the believing was right all along.
It begins and ends in love.
The fire. Lies, broken promises, heartbreak — the beautiful thing that might destroy you.
It descends like the moon… this love.
The dark room after the fire. Grief, silence, and the long work of finding the voice again.
I finally found you in this lifetime… my love.
Love after the fire. Not a fantasy — a vow. The one you were always meant to find.
One letter a week, on love.
Every week, one long essay on love — what it is, what it costs, how it lies, and why it's still the one thing worth the risk. The letter you look forward to. Not advice, not tips — thinking, handcrafted, one mind to one reader.
Read this because you're ready for the love of your life.

The apologies that were never said to you.
188 reckonings with love and lies, inspired by true stories — each one carrying the apology it was owed and never got. Some pages carry sound: one version of what might have happened, and then the apology itself, spoken aloud with the song underneath. A hardbound, interactive book — being written now.
Not a self-help book, and not a stack of letters nobody sent. These are the apologies you were owed.
The waitlist reads it first — before the shelves, before anyone.
Hi, I'm Pat. Let's talk about love.
Somewhere along the way we learned to decide about a human being in about a second. A photo, a thumb, and on to the next one. I understand why we do it — it is fast, and it keeps you safe. And it is a very small way to look for something this big.
So I would like to go back to the beginning of it, really. Not tips, not the five things you are doing wrong. Just the question underneath all of it: what does love actually mean, and what does it ask of us? I do not have that finished. I am working it out in the songs, in the letters, and in the book — and I would rather work it out with you than hand you a conclusion.
Here is what I believe, and I know how it sounds: true love is real, and it is still available to you. It does not arrive by luck. It is two humans choosing each other on purpose, and then choosing it again, and again — which is the part we stopped saying out loud. Love asks you to be intentional about it, and I think humans are really more than capable of that.
And if it has already gone wrong for you, I would like to help with that. Let me heal that heart of yours. That is what the songs are for, and the letters, and the book, and whatever we end up building around them. All of it is really just trying to bring you back to love.
